Welcome to Ride & Rise Horsemanship, we believe in creating a deeper connection between horse and rider through positive reinforcement training and a biomechanics-based approach to achieve your goals!

Our goal is to achieve success while ensuring our horses remain happy, healthy, and willing partners. We believe that when horses enjoy their work as much as we do, true harmony is possible. By understanding how the horse body moves we can create a training approach that supports their well-being and performance. It’s a team effort—invest in yourself as much as you invest in your horse. When you focus on your own growth, fitness, and mindset, you'll see your partnership flourish like never before.

For me Horsemanship is a combination of connection and correct movement. Over the years of training many horses and training with many different coaches from dressage, jumping coaches to horsemanship trainers, I always found that the focus was either missing connection or missing the horses physicality. For me I want my horses to move freely, have good developed muscles all while having an amazing connection. I am here to tell you, you can have both and they are both very important. Just the same as its important to keep are own bodies moving correctly and freely, its the same for the horse.

My goal is longevity, versatility and prevention over cure with all my horses I work.

Why Fitness Matters for Horse Riders

1. Improved Balance and Coordination: Essential for maintaining control and a secure position on the horse.

2. Enhanced Core Strength: A strong core stabilizes your body and improves your posture, crucial for effective riding.

3. Increased Endurance: Riding can be physically demanding; better stamina allows for longer, more enjoyable rides.

4. Injury Prevention: A fitter body is less prone to injuries, both on and off the horse.

Obstacle Training & Riding out

Training obstacles and riding out when done well has huge benefits to your training program.
It improves your connection, gives your horses something else to think of, like  where there feet are going, builds confidence in your horse and in you as a handler.  Riding out if done on hills improves them physically. I have to say you don't think it, if you only do a little hear and there but once you commit to obstacle training you really notice huge positive changes in you horse if done correctly, not to mention it can be a heap of fun.

A Smart Choice for Equine Wellness

As horse owners and caretakers, we strive to provide the best possible care for our equine companions. One exciting option that’s gaining traction in the equine wellness community is hemp oil. With its numerous benefits, hemp oil might just be the perfect addition to your horse's health regimen.

1. Natural Pain Relief

Hemp oil is rich in cannabinoids, particularly CBD, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Horses experiencing chronic pain, arthritis, or age-related discomfort can significantly benefit from incorporating hemp oil into their daily diet. By providing a natural alternative to conventional painkillers, you can enhance your horse’s comfort without the side effects associated with pharmaceuticals.

2. Anxiety and Stress Reduction

Just like humans, horses can experience anxiety and stress. Hemp oil has calming properties that may help alleviate these issues, making it easier for your horse to handle stressful situations such as travel, competition, or environmental changes. This natural solution can improve your horse's overall demeanor and performance, making for more enjoyable riding experiences.

3. Improved Coat Health

A shiny, healthy coat is often a reflection of a horse's overall health. Hemp oil is packed with omega fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining skin and coat health. Regular supplementation can lead to a glossy coat, reduced shedding, and even improvements in conditions like itchy skin or allergies. With vibrant fur, your horse will look as good as they feel.

4. Support for Digestive Health

Hemp oil can also promote better digestive health in horses. Its anti-inflammatory properties may aid in soothing gastrointestinal irritations, potentially reducing the risk of colic and other digestive disorders. A well-functioning digestive system is key to overall well-being, so utilizing hemp oil could help keep your horse more comfortable and healthy.

5. Easy to Administer

One of the standout benefits of hemp oil is that it is simple to incorporate into your horse's diet. Available in oil form, it can easily be added to feed without any fuss. Many horses find it palatable, making the transition seamless for both owner and animal.

Conclusion: A Natural Solution Worth Considering

Incorporating hemp oil into your horse's health plan is not just a trend; it’s a practical decision grounded in nature. From pain relief to anxiety reduction and improved coat health, the advantages are substantial. As with any supplement, it’s essential to consult your veterinarian before introducing hemp oil to ensure it's the right fit for your horse's specific needs.

Make the smart choice for your equine friend today—consider the many benefits of hemp oil and watch your horse thrive!

About me!

Horses have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember—I was riding before I could walk. This lifelong passion has shaped my journey, driving me to deepen my understanding and refine my approach to horsemanship. At thirteen, my family established a riding school that became home to 22 horses, ranging from show ponies, x race horses, Standardbreds, Warmbloods and Andalusians. My equestrian foundation was rooted in the English discipline, with a primary focus on dressage, though I also trained in showing, jumping, and cross-country. Alongside this, I was involved in rehabilitating off-the-track racehorses and rescuing ponies, retraining them for new careers in our riding school. Training two young Warmbloods further expanded my experience, allowing me to develop a well-rounded approach to working with different horses. Over the years, I have trained under a variety of respected instructors, always seeking to refine my methods. As I grew as a horsewoman, I shifted my focus from traditional training aids—stepping away from side reins, tie-downs, and martingales—in favor of a more connected, intuitive approach while still pursuing competitive goals. My personal journey led me to a six-week yoga instructor training course in Queensland, a transformative experience that not only enhanced my own well-being but also deepened my understanding of balance, body awareness, and mindful movement—principles that seamlessly translate into horsemanship. (For more on this journey, feel free to explore my blog.) Upon returning, I found myself drawn to new equestrian challenges and transitioned into Western riding, embracing roping, cattle work, obstacle challenges and the versatility it offers. Despite the differences in disciplines, my core philosophy remains unchanged: to develop a horse that is soft, responsive, and happy—equally capable of excelling in its job as it is of enjoying a relaxed trail ride. I have had the privilege of learning from esteemed trainers across Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, such as Richard Weis , Ian stuart and even spent two weeks at a ranch in Montana at Buck Brannaman clinic. Each experience has contributed to my evolving horsemanship style—one that prioritizes effective techniques and cultivates horses that thrive without reliance on harsh bits or restrictive equipment. My ultimate goal is to produce well-rounded, willing horses, weather that be for performance or trail rides and form a true partnership with their riders.
